A 24 year old woman found dead on Dec. 27, 2014 in a wooded area near McFarland Parkway and Ridgeland Parkway was identified earlier this month as Julia Miller of Douglasville, Georgia.
Several deer hunters had been walking through a 60-acre tract of land when they came across the body near a trail in thick brush. The body had possibly been in the woods for two months. No trauma was found on the body and no foul play is suspected.
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section worked the death and the body was transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Crime Lab for an autopsy and toxicology analysis.
Miller was last seen in that area on Oct. 28 around 10:15 pm after she was involved in a shoplifting incident at the nearby RaceTrac gas station. At the time of the incident in October, Miller’s vehicle was located abandoned at a nearby industrial park by a deputy responding to the shoplifting call. The body was located approximately 500 feet from this location, deep in the woods. Miller had an active warrant out of Forsyth County and had not been reported missing by any family or friends.
