The July 14 Special Election Runoff is to fill the vacancy in Georgia House District 24. Only those voters who reside in Georgia House District 24 are eligible to vote in this election. In Forsyth County, House District 24 encompasses portions of the following six precincts:
Coal Mountain precinct: Coal Mountain Park Community Building, 3560 Settingdown Rd, 30028;
Cumming precinct: Cumming City Hall, 100 Main St, 30040;
Midway precinct: Midway Park Community Building, 5100 Post Rd, 30040;
Heardsville precinct: Sawnee Mountain Park Community Building, 3995 Watson Rd, 30028;
Otwell precinct: First Baptist Cumming, 1597 Sawnee Dr, 30040; and
Polo precinct: ***Polo Precinct (29) will be relocated for ONLY the July 14, 2015 Special Election Runoff to Berean Baptist Church, 7110 Majors Rd., Cumming, GA 30040. Grace Chapel Church of Christ is unavailable as a polling location for the July 14, 2015 Special Election Runoff ONLY***
The six precincts/polling locations involved in this election will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, July 14 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters are urged to verify their Election Day precinct prior to going out to the polls on Election Day. To confirm your voter registration and your Election Day voting precinct, go to www.mvp.sos.ga.gov. For all in-person voting, remember to bring one of the six acceptable forms of photo identification. Please note there is no voting of any kind the Monday prior to any election.
Advance Voting Location May Not Be Your Designated Election Day Precinct
Remember, one of the Advance Voting locations for this election (Midway Park Community Building) is an Election Day voting precinct. However, ON Election Day ONLY those voters who are assigned to that designated precinct should go there to vote.
Administration Building Not Open For Voting On Election Day
Please be advised: The Forsyth County Administration Building, located at 110 E. Main Street in Cumming, is open for Advance Voting but is not an Election Day voting precinct. The Voter Registrations and Elections Office in the Administration Building is open all day on Election Day to answer any questions a voter may have, however, there is no voting in the Administration Building on Election Day. A voter’s polling location on Election Day is specific to where their residence (as registered) falls within designated precinct lines and in most cases is no more than 10 miles from a voter’s house.
