Twenty-nine FCS students met at South Forsyth High School on the morning of Jan. 31 to compete for the title of Spelling Bee Champion 2015. The winner of each elementary and middle school spelling bee represented their respective school as listed below.

After 28 rounds of competition, Varun Kumar from Vickery Creek Middle School was crowned the spelling bee champion after correctly spelling the word “subjunctive”. Monish Jampala from Daves Creek Elementary was named 1st Runner Up. Tharini Ramakrishnan Kavitha from South Forsyth Middle was given the 2nd Runner Up honor. Varoon Kodithala from Sharon Elementary was recognized as Alternate.
Kumar, Jampala, and Kavitha will represent Forsyth County at the District 2 Spelling Bee at Mabry Middle School on Feb. 28.
