A Forsyth County man has been arrested and charged with murder following an incident occurring just after midnight, Saturday, May 17.
Forsyth County deputies responded to a single-wide trailer off Karr Road to reports of a stabbing.
“Upon arrival, deputies discovered Truitt Cheeley, 48, of Cumming, with several stab wounds and lacerations,” said Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, Deputy Robin Regan.
Donald Griffin, 57, of Cumming, was arrested on scene and charged with murder. He remains in custody at the Forsyth County Detention Center
According to Regan, “Detectives believe Griffin stabbed Cheeley with a kitchen knife multiple times.”
Both males were living in the rented trailer with several other individuals and had been having a dispute prior to Griffin stabbing Cheeley.
Cheeley was pronounced dead later that morning at Northside Forsyth Hospital.
