Would you like to learn how to help yourself, family, friends, and community in the event of a major disaster in our county?
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the Forsyth County Fire Department and the Forsyth County Emergency Management Agency will be conducting Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training classes for citizens beginning Monday, Feb. 23.
Classes will be held on Monday evenings, at the Public Safety Training Center in the Sheriff’s Office Training Room, through April 20. A simulated training exercise will take place in late April or early May.
Students will receive training in;
* CERT organization
* Disaster Preparedness
* Light search and rescue
* Fire safety
* Disaster medical
* Disaster psychology and terrorism
CERT members are trained to assist emergency personnel in a disaster situation and work together during such an event.
