Don’t miss the 47th annual Mountain Moonshine Festival in nearby Dawsonville Oct. 25 and 26.
All proceeds from the event benefit KARE for Kids, Inc., a local 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
The festival features two stages with live entertainment, a car show, cruise-in and swap meet.
The parade of moonshine and revenue cars kick off festivities at 9:00 am on Saturday.

According to the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, the following roads will be closed from 5:00 pm on Friday, Oct. 24 to 9:00 pm on Sunday, Oct. 26.
Roy Hall Street
– Raymond Parks Street
– Shoal Creek Road to Tucker Avenue
– Highway 9 South to Howard Avenue
– Bill Elliot Street between Tucker Avenue and Howard Avenue
– Bernard Long Street
– Gober Sosebee Street between Hwy. 53 E/Hwy. 9 N and Academy Street
– Ted Chester Street
– Academy Avenue between Lloyd Seay Street and Highway 9 North
– Main Street from Lloyd Seay Street to Gober Sosebee Street
– Highway 53 East from Highway 9 North to Main Street
