The Place of Forsyth County is seeking donations of new blankets and pillow that will be distributed to families in need throughout Forsyth County.
“There are families in Forsyth County that do not have a pillow or blanket when they go to bed at night. While most snuggle into a nice warm bed, that is not the case for everyone,” said Joni Smith, Executive Director of The Place of Forsyth.,
The idea of a pillow and blanket drive came from lead caseworker, Ruth Baumann, who has seen the need for these items increase during her tenure at The Place. “Children need to have their own pillow and blanket to ensure a good night’s sleep, so that they can have every opportunity to excel,” Ruth said.
For 40 years, The Place has been assisting residents of Forsyth County with emergency assistance, food, clothing and other seasonal needs, through the generosity of the community.
