electronics-recyclingForsyth County residents are encouraged to begin gathering electronics for recycling at the Keep Forsyth County Beautiful annual recycling event.

Make a positive impact on the environment by recycling old, unused electronics during the upcoming electronics recycling event to be held on Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cumming Fairgrounds’ parking lot 3 off Castleberry Road.

Accepted items for recycling include laptops, stereos, CD players, cell phones, printers, gaming consoles and controllers, fax machines and more. The minimum donation per carload drop-off is $5 while an additional $20 fee will apply for each television and an additional $5 fee will apply for each computer monitor.

“When residents recycle their unused electronics, they can make a positive impact on the environment while removing clutter from their homes during spring cleaning,” Environmental Program Manager Tammy Wright said. “We are looking forward to another great turnout for our electronics recycling event.”

Some items, such as large wooden console televisions, projector televisions, toaster ovens and refrigerators, will not be accepted during the event.
