Police Caution Citizens of New Robbery Tactic, Leads Wanted in GA 400 Incident

police linePolice are warning citizens of a possible new tactic being used by criminals to rob people who believe they were involved in a traffic accident.

An incident occurred Sunday, Feb. 8 around 3:00 pm, during which two ladies in a grey Mini-Cooper were victims of a “bump and run” armed robbery on Georgia 400 northbound, just north of Windward Parkway.

A spokesperson for the Alpharetta Police Department said, “Two young black males in a large black pickup truck (possibly a Toyota Tundra) sideswiped the ladies in the Mini Cooper. When they both pulled to the emergency lane to report the accident, the men in the truck exited and robbed the two ladies at gunpoint. Passing motorist may have thought they were witnessing a minor automobile accident which was actually and armed robbery in progress.”

Alpharetta Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this accident or the two vehicles at the roadside on Georgia 400 north of Windward Pkwy near the Forsyth/Fulton County line, please call Lt. Suspect 1 is described as a black male wearing a light gray hoodie jacket, regular blue jeans and being small frame- skinny, 17-22 years of age approximately 5 foot 4 inches – 5 foot 6 inches in height. Suspect 2 is described as being a black male 18-22 years of age, wearing a red hoodie type jacket.

Please remember, if you are bumped by another vehicle, safely get a license plate number, and contact your local authorities to advise them of the accident. This may prevent further criminal activity.
