Heroin Distribution Foothold Busted

HeroinDetectives have stopped an individual attempting to setup a heroin distribution foothold in Forsyth County.

An investigation led detectives to a residence in the City of Cumming where they conducted a search warrant and more than one kilogram of heroin was seized from the residence. “That amount of heroin could be up to 32,000 doses,” said a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office.

The spokesperson reports, “Forsyth County has a lower number of serious drug issues compared to surrounding areas. We are aware that no county is immune to this type of problem. Even one overdose is one too many.”

Sheriff Duane K. Piper said, “Our deputies are passionate about their jobs and this community. All of them worked quickly and diligently over the past few days to make this arrest.”

The suspect had moved into Forsyth County only within the past few months and is considered  part of a larger drug ring.  The suspect’s identity and the street name have not been released.
