A 51-year-old man died today after he suffered an apparent heart attack and crashed into a bridge that joins Forsyth and Hall counties.
According to Cpl. David Garrison of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit, Ralph Phillip Jones, 51, of Walnut Dr., Alto, Ga. died today in the crash.
Jones was traveling west on Browns Bridge Road/Hwy. 369 entering Forsyth County in his 1999 Lincoln Navigator when he apparently suffered a heart attack. He then lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the bridge.
Emergency responders transported Jones to Northeast Ga. Medical Center in Gainesville where he was pronounced dead around 11:21 a.m. The accident occurred at 10:12 a.m.
Cpl. Garrison said Jones was wearing his seat belt and drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
The collision remains under investigation.
