Forsyth County Students Earn Scholarships from Daniel Hager Memorial Scholarship Fund

Committee Members of the Daniel Hager Memorial Scholarship Fund are pleased to announce the results of their 2012 scholarship program.  Awards were presented to seven students attending Forsyth and North Fulton County Schools.  Each student received a $1,000 scholarship to the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The scholarships were awarded to:  Jared Klienwaechter, Lambert High; Neha Saxena, Lambert High; Anna Finch, North Forsyth High; Madison Rodenstine, North Forsyth High; Tyler McGee, South Forsyth High; Hannah Coonley, South Forsyth High; and Cody Blackwell of Creek view High.

Jared Kleinwaechter, son of Gerilyn and Joseph, graduated Lambert High with a cumulative G.P.A. of 4.0.  He volunteered at St.Brendan’s Catholic Church and school activities included Football, Track &Field, National Honor Society, FCA and Mu Alpha Theta.  Jared will attend Georgia Tech.

Neha Saxena, daughter of Seema and Rajiv, graduated Lambert High with a cumulative G.P.A. of 4.0. She volunteered at Ocee Library and school activities included DECA, National Honors Society, National Technical Honors Society and Mu Alpha Theta.  Naha will attend Georgia Tech.

Anna Finch, daughter of Leah and William, graduated North Forsyth High with a cumulative G.P.A. of 4.0. She volunteered at Group Leader/Bible Story Teller at Browns Bridge Community Church and school activities included International Thespian Society, National Honors Society, Beta Club and Mu Alpha Theta.  Anna will attend Georgia Tech.

Madison Rodenstine, daughter of Angela Heitzer and Todd, graduated North Forsyth High with a cumulative G.P.A.of 4.19. She volunteered at Special Olympics and Hands on Forsyth and school activities included Cheer leading,Tennis, Beta Club, National Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Math Team and DECA. Madison will attend Georgia Tech.

Tyler McGee, son of Melanie and Brian graduated South Forsyth High with a cumulative G.P.A. of 4.18.   School activities included National Honor Society, National Beta Club, National Spanish Honor Society, Tennis Team,Scholar Athlete and Team Captain. Tyler will attend Georgia Tech.

Hannah Coonley, daughter of Rhonda and Greg,graduated South Forsyth High with a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.85. She volunteered at Forsyth Animal Shelter and school activities included Ballet, Link Leaders and National Honor Society. Hannah will attend Georgia Tech.

Cody Blackwell, son of Terri and Clark, graduated Creekview High with a cumulative G.P.A of 3.89.  He volunteered at Boy Scouts of America and school activities included Creekview Aeronautics Club, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Future Business Leaders Of America.

The funds were raised through the annual Daniel Hager Memorial Celebrity Golf Tournament held last October at the Polo Golf and Country Club.  The event was Chaired by Bobby Cox, Co-Chaired by Kaye and Gerry Litzinger, Directed by Todd Stalder and included hundreds of volunteers, sponsors, players and celebrities.

Plans for this year’s golf tournament are in full swing and will take place at 10:00a.m., Tuesday, October 16 at the St. Ives Country Club, Johns Creek, GA.  Inward Solutions; Small wood, Reynolds,Stewart, Stewart & Associates; and Southern Barter Club are presenting sponsors.  Hennessy Lexus of Gwinnett; Team Honda; and Team Toyota will sponsor the Hole-In-One Contests on the designated par three holes.
