NATIONAL AWARD RECEIVED FOR FORSYTH COUNTY GOVERNMENT PUBLICATION
FORSYTHCOUNTY, Georgia – The National Association of County Information Officers (NACIO) has recognized a Forsyth County government publication for excellence, through the 2015 NACIO Awards of Excellence Competition.
The Forsyth County 2013 Annual Report was named ‘Best in Class’ in the competition’s annual reports category. The Forsyth County Annual Report is an informational tool providing taxpayers information about their local government and serving as a resource for those seeking information about the county. The publication is prepared by the Department of Communications and is designed to provide information about recent county projects and accomplishments and about the many programs, services and amenities provided by the county. Forsyth County began publishing the annual report in 2007. The report can be viewed online at www.forsythco.com. Printed copies of the most recent annual report, covering 2014, are available at the Forsyth County Administration Building.
“The NACIO awards competition showcases the best communications and public relations projects from public information professionals throughout the country,” said NACIO President Todd McGee, the public relations director for the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners. “I know the judges had a difficult time in selecting the winners, and that is a testament to the great work that is being done to help citizens better understand what county governments do.” NACIO is an affiliate of the National Association of Counties (NACo). Established in 1996, NACIO promotes effective communication between counties and citizens.
