Eagle Sculpture Missing from Forsyth County Recreational Area

--By on --

A bronze sculpture of an eagle has been reported missing from a Forsyth County recreational area. The sculpture was located at the Bethelview Road trail head of the Big Creek Greenway multi-use trail in Forsyth County. County officials believe the sculpture was taken Monday evening or early Tuesday morning.”This is the first time something of this nature has occurred at a Forsyth County park or recreational area,” Parks and Recreation Director Jerry Kinsey said. “It is certainly our hope that the sculpture will be returned.”

The eagle sculpture is estimated to be approximately 6 feet tall, with an approximately 8-foot wingspan. It weighs approximately 400 pounds.

Funded by a grant, the sculpture was installed at the trail head in April.

Anyone with information regarding the sculpture is asked to call the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office South Precinct at 770.781.3047.
